The best and cheapest way to insulate roof ducting
So I have some duct work that needs to be insulated. It sits on a flat roof and the one inch, R7 that is in it just doesn’t do it. I can’t stand the thought of this summers electric bills so here it goes. We are going to build some air sandwiches out of foam insulation and apply them to the outside of the duct work. Hopefully this will magically change R7 to R30 ish. We will take a standing temperature in the duct before and after on a day when the temperatures are over 70 degrees. We think this will be the easiest way to do this and cost the least. 628 sqft of duct to cool down, it will take a while. I will keep you posted.
